This compound is both a mini-hostel and a maxi-base for for all outdoor sports enthusiasts. It budget priced and run by the Prodigy mountain biking club. Local food, sustainable living and a whole lot of outdoor fun are the name of the game here. Stay overnight in one of the double rooms.

Prodigy Outdoor Base is so-named because it considers itself less a hotel in the forest and more a base from which to explore, get involved in outdoor sports or just enjoy nature and then relax with friends and family, enjoying fresh food from the kitchen cooked by local farmers and drinks from the bar. If you're feeling energetic bikes are available to hire and the base can organise activities tailored to your group.
The base was formed by the founder of Prodigy Mountainbike Club and a group of close friends who love being outdoors. In designing the centre, the team fused practical and picturesque ideas from hostels visited during a trans-Alps biking trip, with local materials of stone, slate and of course bamboo. Shared bathrooms, some dormitory-style accommodation and large outdoor terraces are balanced with double rooms and the intimate rooftop tea terrace.

Sorry, poor proofreading first time around. I meant that there is only ONE room here with its own private bathroom. And the guesthouse a 5 minute walk away is 150rmb for a room with private bathroom INCLUDING Chinese breakfast.
The photos of this place look good, and so do the prices, initially anyway. There is only room here wit its own private bathroom. 150rmb for a bunk in the dorm room, NOT including breakfast, is a bit much. 30rmb extra for Chinese breakfast? If you're too old to relive your camp days, you can get a proper room with private bathroom including chinese at a guesthouse a 5 minute walk away for that price.
There's just too many additional fees at this place. 20rmb per person if you bring your own food to BBQ. Corkage fees for wine at 50RMB/bottle, liquor at 80RMB/bottle, beer at 50RMB/box 12 bottles, etc. Seriously?! And they don't allow you to use the kitchen even when booking the entire house, likely in an effort to make each guest shell out 70rmb per lunch/dinner for farm-style cuisine. All this is a bit too stingy compared to the guesthouses that include breakfast, free grill and charcoal, don't mind if you byob, and have extras like a pool table.
I'd only book here for a group if it were the only option.
Second time at Prodigy and this time was just fabulous. They have added a real functioning wood fired over that can be used to make probably the best pizza in all of zhejiang province and definitely the best in moganshan. stayed in the dorm bunk this time and was really impressed by how comfortable the beds were as well as the pillows. Just top notch for a fraction the price of naked.
I accidently ended up there because of no abailabilty at the other place. So I called the only choice of hotel in Moganshan. But surprise ! It was half price and was absolutely satisfied! I will definitely look forward to staying there agian!!!!!
Awesome spot. No frllls but definitely not low quality. Great for a weekend away with friends.
