Meadowbrook is a caring, loving place for a horse to be. I have been riding at meadowbrook since i was 7 from the first touch of my foot landing in the stable ground my whole feeling has changed into nature straight away. From that day onwards I fell in love with ponies and horses. The first day i arrived at Meadowbrook, I rode this little, smart, clean pony named Joe-Joe. He is such a sweetheart, he licked me in the face after i finished riding him. Before i left the stables i gave my superstar a kiss at his shiny muzzle. Days and days, week and week, years and year i was wishing that my parents would let me buy a horse. The days had come true, Today i own a horse at Meadowbrook, his name is Wei-Wei. Wei-Wei is my superstar, he is a really sweet, calm, gentle horse. Every time i arrive at the stable Wei-Wei would NAHHH to me, Every time I stroke him on the neck he would fall a sleep, Every time I give him a treat he would lick me back as a thank you. What is Meadowbrook horse care and horse condition like? This stable is an outstanding stable, it has 6+ paddocks for horses and ponies to be turned out. 3 big pastures for horses to graze and have their daily greens for their small snacks. Each and every single day, all Meadowbrook horses including horses that have been bought, they all get to go out side in the beautiful fresh air to have a nice stroll. Every day, all the Meadowbrook horses get exercise and grooming to be in top notch shape. All the horses are well fed and stables are mucked out 3+ times daily. They get no limits on water, meaning they get water 24/7, water buckets are filled up whenever a horse has been drinking water. All the horses are examined each day if they have some sign of illness or problem with their hoofs. My horse one day had a sign of thrush in his hoof so the vet and I had taken care of his hoof in no time, after 2 months his hoof was back to normal. The stable has a vet on call 24/7 so no worry to call in a vet at 5 in the middle of the night, if your horse has any problems. Overall, This stable is a very very very good place to keep a horse, My horse at Meadowbrook is having a fabulous time with his mates and human friends. He is always willing to work with me whenever i come to ride him. Bring Your Horse To Meadowbrook And He Or She Will Have A Peace And Happy Life!

Over the past two summers I’ve worked at Meadowbrook full time and I’ll tell you the work isn’t easy. Aside from getting up at 6 in the morning every morning and getting home at 7 or later every night, not to mention the physical demands of stable work everyday. And yet despite all that I keep returning every summer and put myself through all of that over and over again. So what makes me do it? There’s something about Meadowbrook that just makes one feel so at home; Meadowbrook transcends nationality, age gaps, gender gaps, staff and student gaps, it’s unbelievable and wholly heartwarming. More than anything I love being a part of a school where the students, the horses, and the staff are encouraged to interact, make friends, and build good relationships. Especially the horses who make up the livelihood of the staff and who are ultimately the real teachers are treated with such respect and dignity. They are neither spoilt nor mistreated. Meadowbrook follows the true code horses wish all their owners could follow: feed me, shelter me, treat me well, and in return I will carry you and work hard for you. At the end of each summer it’s difficult to say goodbye to all my coworkers (four legged and two alike), and all the students who come to learn and like me, bask in a warm, caring environment.

Hey Everyone. I’m a German girl, and when I was 16 years old I spent 10 weeks at Meadowbrook. I had a great time there, At 7.00am, we (the other staff members and I) had to turn out the horses and prepare the riding arenas (which means to rectify the track and water the arenas). Then we had to ride, free-longe, longe, free-jump or hack horses, or give riding lessons,we also cleaned the saddles and bridles. The horses and ponies were all very good tempered!

Lunch and dinner I ate together with the other staff members in the staff canteen, and they soon became like brothers to me. This was fun eating together because the guys tried to teach me Chinese and I tried to teach them German, and we were kidding around a lot ☺

I really enjoyed, that all of the staff members went out together with the stable owners, because this is something you don’t have everywhere, and I really gloried the great atmosphere, which made me immediately feel welcome and home at Meadowbrook and in Shanghai. Meadowbrook is not only a nice and modern riding complex, but it has great owners and an amiable staff. I’m very glad, that I got the opportunity to experience this and hope I will visit them again in the early future!!!

I can strongly recommend meadowbrook to everyone who likes horses and riding. The stuff there is super friendly and speaks excellent english, the horses are nice and treated well (not always the case here unfortunately) and the instructors are highly qualified. Going there is easily one of the highlights of my week :)

I was there in the beginning.

Meadowbrook's goal is to let everyone enjoy nature, horses and other animals. And that's what they do.

Already from the first year you saw people, both adult and child, enjoy the excitement of being with, learning about and riding horses. Especially children developed both horse riding and social skills on horse riding camps, equitation days and much more.

They also take very good care of their horses compared to other stables in Shanghai that I saw. You can just tell by looking at the horses that they are very content there.

I still have many fond memories of the horses. staff and customers.

I'll never forget you guys!!!

I go to school in the States, Meadowbrook is pretty much the only reason I spend the money and make the 24 hour trip to Shanghai every vacation I get that's longer than 2 weeks.

It has all the comfort, the warmth, and the drama of a very large, very multinational extended family

I've been riding at Meadowbrook every weekend for over three years. Going there is the highlight of my week, as it is a great place to get back in touch with the nature that is fast disappearing from Shanghai and the perfect way to wind down after a long week of hectic school and work.

The atmosphere at Meadowbrook is extremely warm and friendly, where everyone seems happy to see everybody else. It makes you feel welcome, perfectly at home, and like you are a part of the stable - a feeling that is difficult to find elsewhere, as I have found from numerous other stables I have been to.

Being at Meadowbrook is a joy, whether you are riding or sitting someplace watching the resident dog fleeing from a shower, Tina the baby goat rushing pell-mell from point A to point B, or the horses poking their heads over the doors to look for passing treats.
