Boom Shanghai, backed by Cool DJ Agency, is quickly becoming a hot new venue for electronic intensity. The management is bringing in international DJs like Paul Kalkbrenner and Sven Vath, filling its open Huaihai Lu space with a thousand club goers who enjoy being smooshed like sardines while jumping up and down.
Boom Shanghai has emerged out of Tantra’s ashes, exploding onto the scene as a vibrant new dance venue. The club opened on Feb. 18 with German DJ Sven Vath packing the floor with a thousand party people. Run by the Cool DJ Agency, Boom is backed by the force behind China’s biggest bookings in electronic music over the past decade. Calvin Harris, Pendulum, Paul Kalkbrenner, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Deadmau5, Above and Beyond and Carl Cox are some of names these playas roll with. With a convenient location on Huaihai Lu and solid music management, Boom may become a force to be reckoned with.
