City Weekend says

The venue, on the top floor of a restaurant, has free darts and pool along with reasonably priced drinks and a comfortable, laid back vibe, which make it a good downtown option. Keep an eye out for theme parties and drink specials. It's also one of the few places that gets busy regularly during the week.

"Blah." That's all I can say. The one star, is a sympathy star.

I happened to be standing right behind this drunk old lady, complaining to the manager and I would say....hands down, he handled it perfectly. It must have hurt having 30 people laughing at you when he kicked you out, but the rest of us loved it. Please come back soon so we can laugh at you again

I was so disappointed. I had heard many cool things about this place. I went there on saturday night when they have the 21:00 to midnight all you can drink for 100 rmb. I'm not an excessive drinker but thought it would be cool to try out a new place. Got there around 10 pm, paid the 100 rmb had three drinks and enjoyed the place. At 11:50 I went to get a last drink , but was told by the very impolite and condescending bartender that it was after midnight and drinks were no longer free. Many other customers were asking for a last drink, checking their mobile phones for the time... but no can do... THE BAR TIME was past twelve and we had to pay. I asked to see the manager and the response was: "Honey, you want a drink, pay for it." I was so insulted... I will never give them a dime of my hard earned Shanghai money again.

I love this bar - its not full of pretentious Euro Trash dickbags like you'd find at the Bund and the drinks are easy and affordable. Legendary beer pong and free darts plus an all you can drink program on a Saturday night for 150 Kuai? Sign your old buddy Jack Burton right up for this one mister.

Lots of expats. Comfy couches. Low key depending on the night. If you like dive its one of the best. Ladies night is once a week every week and we drink free! Been here several times and have met some pretty energetic people. Check it out.

This place is a lot of fun. A bunch of friends and I went there last night (Thursday) for beer pong, and we had a great time. The way they have the place set up is great, the small 3rd floor 'apartment-style' makeup of the bar makes you feel like you're at a house party. For beer pong, you just have to put your team name on the list and then pay 50 rmb to buy a pitcher when its your turn. The pitcher is used to fill up all of the cups on the table you're about to play on. Winners stay on the table and keep going until they lose. You have to tally up your wins on the board, and at the end of the night (2am), they count up all the victories and the team with the most takes home 2 gold medals and 2 bottles of smirnoff vodka. It's a pretty sweet deal. Definitely go on a thursday for some pong.

Dive bar, house party vibe beats snobby Bund lounges any day. The long islands are strong and the people are friendly.

If you're looking for Americans to talk to about how Dwayne J. Scuzzlebender Jnr's quarterfield touchdown powerplay average for the San Jose Flying Tomatoes has been so totally awesome this season, look no further.

If you don't want to spend more on drinks in this 'dive' bar than you would in Oslo, whilst surrounded by aforementioned Americans who only come here because it reminds them of the places they hang out in in the Philippines when they're not teaching, don't bother.

This is a cozy lounge to chill out on weekdays for a drink...I have only been there three times though...a good place for relaxing and chatting with people. Most shots taste too sweet yet pretty cheap(20RMB to 30 RMB). BTW did I ever mention you can shoot pool there for free, while everybody in the room couldn't be avoid checking you out?

@zoezhang, Tuesday nights all ladies get free listed drinks. I couldn't recall them all.

This place is a dive. If you like to hang out with the hardworking Filipinos of Shanghai and the hapless English teachers, then this is the place for you. Otherwise you can safely steer away from it knowing that you haven't missed anything worthwhile.

Simply put, this place was a HOLE. I have been hearing what a cool and interesting place this was, and when I finally found it, I was amazed that people were recommending it. The waitress didn' say ANYTHING to us, and the drinks were expensive - unless of course you ordered whatever the particular special was that night.

Dropped in for a beer at happy hour and when I entered the Filipino bartender says, "hey man, where you been?" It was my first time! I said, "I finally made it, give me something strong." Then I got the clearest Long Island Iced Tea Ive ever seen. Had to ask for more Coke. My kind of place! Well done

Missing the Love, Issue 24

Many of us have spent the wee hours of countless nights in this bar's original Bund location and have hoped that the newly relocated venue would fill the void that the original left. While we found it strange to see our old stomping ground relegated to the third floor of a Singaporean restaurant, we soon settled in and enjoyed ourselves. The surroundings are fairly unremarkable aside from new dartboards and a pool table; it reminded us of a frat house with its freshly painted paneling and exposed rafters. Remarkably the print of two girls kissing made the journey, but they left the dance pole behind. A Barely Legal cocktail (RMB50) was heavy on the absinthe and left us a bit woozy, and the Creamsicle (RMB50) included mandarin and vanilla vodka, orange juice and cream, although Bailey's was added by accident on the first pour. Our beer selection (RMB40) was a safe choice, and as we drank, we reminisced about the fun we had on the Bund.

This may not be the "best" bar in Shanghai, but it has to be the "funnest" bar in Shanghai. The people in there are ready to party, friendly and I've even seen the bartender & servers kick out people for being douche bags. Hilarious!

The only thing scary about I Love Shanghai's Friday the 13th party last night was how few people showed up. Has this non-Bundish Bund bar fallen off or have we merely reached that time of the year when the city's bar-crawling expats go home for the summer?

Drunk as a skunk Beware! Have dinner and avoid their incredible strong gin & tonics ;)

Cheers This is the best bar to come meet people and network that I've found in Shanghai. Everyone inside is so friendly, while everyone else on the Bund is so snobbish! Cheers to you I Love Shanghai Lounge!
