City Weekend says

This long bar wraps the second floor space of the Shanghai Centre where the Long Bar once stood. It offers a wide selection of cocktails as well as a light Mediterranean menu at decent prices. The menu is divided up by the quality of the spirits chosen and drinks range in price from RMB38 to RMB99 and up. If not for the drinks and their great RMB38 rush hour special, go for the friendly servers and relaxed atmosphere.

5 stars for making a proper Manhattan. Most of the crowd seems like workers in the area, not tourists. I'd say half locals, half foreigners. Decor unpretentious. Good DJ on the weekends makes it a good place to get warmed up for a night on the town.

Dark and pretty empty (to be fair, I went on a weeknight). The dark, plush sofas and lack of customers gave the place a sleepy and kind of sad vibe. Drinks were overpriced and mediocre. I assume most of their clientele are tourists who wander in from the hotel in the complex-- I guess they don't need to worry about repeat customers when they have a built-in customer-base that will probably never be in the position to return.

I used to like this place--friendly bartender and good drinks, but it's definitely gone down hill. The drinks are too pricey for the staff to be unhelpful and the whole place just feels stuffy and pretentious now.

This place got a lot of hype, but i was really disappointed: Cocktails are soso at best, ambiance is nothing special, prices are too high for what you get, design is nice..but not enough to make me come back..

Read all the hype about this new bar & their signature cocktails. The decor of the bar/club is nothing to shout about. Way too dark inside to read the menu. Cocktails were utterly dissapointing! Bad enough they had rookie bartenders taking precise measurements of each pour, some were referring to the recipe sheet. My husband and I paid RMB200 for 2 glasses of cocktails that tasted like fruit juices. The only saving grace was the service and house wine.

I loved it at CVRVE! How ironic that I ended up there on a crazy day like Cinco de Mayo. With all the upper crust of shanghai sashaying around, I felt a bit out of place. But in no time, I felt straight at home. After finishing off a few of the free-flowing champagne and cocktails, I "sashayed my way to the manager and told him, "Hey, it's Cinco de Mayo Day! You guys should be serving tacos, margaritas and tequilas! To my surprise, within 10 minutes, the manager, the bartender and an assistant came over our table with a round of tequila (CVRVE version). On top of that, they all chuck one down with us. How KOOL is that? This may be the a white collar joint, but with none of the snobbism that comes along with it. The manager then thanked me for my suggestion! Haha! I felt quite good! They then went and made their round to every table, wishing everyone "Happy Cinco de Mayo Day!" while giving away free tequila shots. It was brilliant! It is indeed the classiest Cinco e Mayo Day I've ever had in my life. Four thumbs up (including my toes) for CVRVE. I'm definitely going back there again, and ya'll should head that way too! See you all at CVRVE. "A White Collar joint without the snobbism."
