This homey venue has an Old Shanghai feel coupled with an extensive and well-prepared drinks list. The owner, Amay, is one of the most friendly bar people in the city, and loves nothing more than chatting with patrons about culture and travel, which has made this a regular hangout for backpackers and those on the Couch Surfing network.

Staff is friendly and they have some good hookah! Prices are super pricey, but great spot for atmosphere and meet ups.
I have been going there regularly for years. One of the best happy hour Manhattans in Shanghai, the owner Amy is very hospitable. The pizza is also pretty good!
Expanded space upstairs is quite nice with more tables and even stuffed armchairs that make you think of a hidden attic salon. However, the smell coming up to the top level is just awful, so hold your breath!

Have been here several times and it defintley my bar of choice in this area. Very friendley staff, great cocktails and warm atmosphere.

yeah, Bell is much fun especially if u ever mentioned more details there. .those tiny pics on the corner table that portrayed the daily life of local ordinally people,the arrangements of cockloft, the funny penis joke post behind the washroom door, etc. .
Two of my friends and I went here for birthday drinks. Not sure who the bar tender was, but he made us some tasty concoctions. Very cozy spot with a "local neighborhood bar" feel. We've already been back once more.
I've been to a number of Amay's (the owner) awesome establishments, and love them all. Bell Cafe & Bar was just getting the finishing touches underway when I was last in Shanghai, but it was shaping up to be a really nice place. I highly recommend a visit to Taikang Lu -- you won't regret it.
I haven"t visited Bell Cafe & Bar yet but I know the owner Amay very well. I will be in Shanghai October '08 and will visit Amay's newest business. Amay is a tireless worker who is very creative and shows alot of attention to detail. She is very focused on comfort and atmosphere. Taikang Road is a very nice part of Shanghai with all its quaint little shops. I am sure that Bell Cafe & Bar wil be the place to relax after a busy day.
Hey i love this bar so much ! u know what i always choose there when i have no ideas where should i go after dinner ......... and the owner Aamy (don't really sure ) is so nice to us . Anyway a really awesome one ..................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
