This inviting establishment provides an oasis for after work drinks and a bite to eat. The interior is simple yet sophisticated, with white walls contrasted with dark wooden beams, an airy patio, and tribute posters to The Beatles. A mix of bar food and hearty meals satisfies, as do cool pours of draft beer and reasonably mixed cocktails.

Very nice place for aperitif and dinner, I love the daily happy hour (4-7) and different special deals every day (after 7). The food is good and always consistent (except the pasta which is over-cooked). Very fresh yard in summer and cozy-warm ambient in winter.

I went to Abbey Road last night with a friend and I have to say I really like the charm of the place. Our waiter who was Chinese had a Cockney accent which was equal parts awesome and disturbing. It was a Cockney accent in the way that I as an American would imitate, with the obligatory, "hullo govenah" . We started off with two vodka martini's which at around 50rmb are a fair price. We ordered some Rosti (sorry I don't umlaut) which was a big ceramic pot of over cheesed, gut busting, devil inspired gluttony which we couldn't finish. The vegetable Rosti that I ordered was bland and just way to rich to be enjoyable. The same for my friends meat Rosti. With that said on other occasions I've had the Pasta and it's been pretty good. We did finish off with some nice Pear Schnapps to cut through the heaviness of the food and they were kind enough to make sure the glasses were extra chilled as we ordered them. The staff were attentive and colorful, the food while not my favorite this time won't put me off for future visits and the atmosphere good for an after work crowd.

Extremely SLOW service, Appauling follow-up with customers, and ignoring any problems.
I will share the facts/reality of how a Sunday lunch for six people, could end up with only five meals served 1hr 15minutes after ordering, served separately. Whilst only half-full restaurant (including outside tables).
TIME - Sunday 1pm, six people, seeking six meals. INFORMED - we were informed food would take a 'while'. Reality - 1hr 15mins ORDER - 4 English breakfasts, one Swiss main, one chicken main. Reality - five meals came separately, with around 5 minute gap wait for each persons’ meal! We ended up with five meals, as the time difference between the first meal was laid on the table to the expected time of the least meal was around 25 minutes! FOOD - Average, OK. Well one should hope nothing would go wrong with fried eggs, bacon and sausage! SERVICE –We kindly chased three times! No information on the estimation of time, no information on dishes being served completely separate from each other. No sympathy, no apology, No complimentary snacks. I can’t think of anything good about the service. No management and No Manager.
AMBIANCE – At least three other tables were clearly vocally up-happy with the service. These tables were waiting to pay the cheque. Décor average.I'm not a fan of being rude, or expecting hospitality staff to work miracles. But this truely is a place the worst place out of all places ive been to, including just local 'hole in the wall' 4yuan noodle bars.
Appalling follow-up service after enquiring our food kindly after 45minutes. Lack of hospitality, we requested for a complimentary basket of bread to keep us going. We were ignored. The worst thing is that, if they a reason to the particular delay, a sincere apology with a small complimentary snack – that would make it much easier to be think it was a one off. But as no explanation was given, I can only guess that this occurs every lunch period!

Food = average; you can not cover all Europe on your menu. I prefer restaurants to do 4 or 5 dishes damn well :)
For sure Abbey Road does well with their staff; You are served with a smile/kind words and that is not that common is Shanghai's expat venues. So if coming in for drinks, all fine. A survivior.

Average-ish, if you dont mind waiting ages for your food, but pay cheap prices then you get an ok deal. Staff friendly.
better choices out there, but a good place to visit at least once

I simply loved it! I think the prices for the food are quite ok, especially for the big portion you get. I was everything else than hungry after leaving. Zuerigschnaetzlets was great and the Roesti delicious! I'll be back for sure!

We have been going to Abbey Road over the past six months at least 2 or 3 times a month and LOVE it!
The breakfast is perfect, and with the outdoor patio open, it's a lovely spot to hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee.
We have been for dinner too and the food is just as good in the evening as it is in the morning. For breakfast my 3 year old daughter loves the cinnamon french toast, and for dinner the chicken nuggets are the best in town (add bonus for parents is the yummy curry dip)!
It's a nice neighborhood pub, the kind of place you can kick back, relax and enjoy consistantly good food.

It was my 1st time @ Abbey Road and I had gone with an open mind and a hungry stomach.
2-word summary: Extremely Disappointing...
The food, was bland and for the pricing, I can definitely get better fare elsewhere.
I had ordered a Cream of Mushroom and a Cordon Red (Pork filled with ham, mushroom & cheese) with Rosti as a side. Sounds appetizing, no??
Although the staff did warn us that the kitchen was backed up, it took about 30mins for the soups and starters to be served. Then, the main courses took another 20-45mins to be served to various people at our table.
For some reason, my order took the longest. With the main course nowhere in sight of being served soon, I requested if I could possibly cancel. As usual, I got the standard, all-too-familiar reply in restaurants anywhere in China, "You can't cancel because it's being made." I further inquired as to the reason for the wait, and here comes the shocker...the waitress that was attending to me retorted defensively, and I quote: "Everything's being pre-made but each other has to be individually re-heated!"
I was shocked and digusted. I decided to speak to the manager and the same lady that she is the manager!
Alrighty...Great...
Resigned to the fate that I'll be having another sub-standard dinner, and even worse service, from the manager no less....I waited for another 15mins for my Cordon Red to arrive. Took 1 bite of the pork and I nearly spat it out. The pork was tastless and barely warm and the rosti was burnt and soggi.
The manager was speaking the truth afterall....
Even some of us who had stuck with 'safe options' such as pastas were very disappointed.....
Guess Abbey Road will not be getting anymore future business from anyone in our party of 15...

Not impressed by this pub... Very very smoky, rather expensive drinks, average food (I was disappointed by their signature spatzle) and slow service. Sorry, I'm not coming back !

Dinner with workmates after a long day at the office is always better with a couple glasses of red wine from Argentina or Chile at Enoteca and, of course, best enjoyed with cheese and salami on the side. The post-dinner and after-work drink inevitably take place at Abbey Road. A nice draft beer to chase away the working hours does me good. Finally, the evening's “musical drinks” most likely take place at the House of Blues & Jazz. I love the place not only because I perform gypsy jazz and French folk there on Mondays, but also for the nice selection of white wines, like Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. With wine in hand, I enjoy listening to the Sam Hooper Group, my favorite band in town right now.

nice bar good promo,s good night on mondays when other bars a dead

Having lived in Hong Kong and traveled all over China on business, I've gotten to taste lots of different Chinese cuisines, but the best is definitely in Shanghai. I always return to Nanling, for my favorite crab meatballs on Chinese cabbage (lion head meatballs). The restaurant is in an old villa in the former French Concession and mainly frequented by Shanghainese. If I crave Western food and a glass of wine, maybe a good piece of meat with Austrian / German noodles (spatzle / knopfli), I go Abbey Road. For a relaxed hangout, high ceilings and a taste of the seventies, I prefer Amokka Cafe. The menu is not huge but you'll aways find something--everything from Thai beef salad to Caesar salad to pastas and Thai curries.

Part-bar; part-restaurant... nice place for a sunday afternoon... reasonably priced
Overall, decent - but nothing out-of-this-world
After a great 1 year anniversary party on Saturday night and a few laid back drinks on the terrace in the last few weeks I'm starting to get into Abbey Road again.
Friendly staff, good service, and 30RMB pints of Carlsberg.
During the winter, there's not much to set it apart from a host of other bars, but with that terrace and the warmer weather- "It's Getting Better All The Time"

Abbey Road is not a dizzying overdose of Beatlemania. There are subtle band posters; classy, not kitschy, paintings in the back room, and most surprisingly, the sound of Red Hot Chili Peppers filling the air. Instead, this inviting establishment provides an oasis for after work drinks and a bite to eat. The inside interior is simple yet sophisticated, with white walls juxtaposed by dark wooden beams. However, before the sweltering heat sets in, patrons should relax on the airy patio, architecturally more Japanese than British pub, shaded by large red umbrellas. Bottles of imported beer go for ¥25-35 and cocktails for around ¥45-50. The Abbey Road Martini (¥45) was weak, so next time we'll try the Create Your Own Cocktail for ¥50. The Chicken Nuggets with Curry (¥35) tasted straight out of the McDonalds fryer; however, the burgers were big, juicy and satisfying. Patrons can also try the famed 300g Abbey Road Beef Steak for ¥80. Once Abbey Road decides if it is more restaurant or bar, this new French Concession establishment will "Come Together." –Ashley Woo
