The Ritz-Carlton's ESPA-managed spa offers luxurious spa treatments in sky-high rooms with staggering views. Personalized facials and massages make each experience individual. Indulge with a soothing, tension reducing "bliss out back massage" or stretch sore muscles with the "pure sports massage." You're in expert hands here.
This is my favorite spa in town, not just because of the phenomenal treatments, nor the attentive staff who make you feel like royalty from the moment you step inside, but also because of the excellent side-facilities.
The changing rooms are gleaming and futuristic, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking plunging views of Pudong and the tallest buildings on the Mainland. There is a sauna and steam room for guests to use (I've never seen anyone else in there so it feels like your own private Turkish bath), and a fountain chugging out mounds of crushed ice. So you can bake yourself in the sauna and then run out and pick up firstfulls of ice to smack all over your body.
ESPA's products, oils and lotions are first-rate. The treatment rooms and bright and tranquil, without too much of that now-rather-tired Balinese vibe. And, most impressive of all, even the background music they play during your massage is good. No whale sound and wind chimes, this stuff is like modern abstract ambient.
Do yourself and your body a favor and blow an afternoon here.
