Admire the sights of the Shanghai skyline from the rooftop terrace of this old factory. While the pasta and seafood are worth a taste, the crowds really come for the pizza. The menu offers an astounding selection of wood-fired Napoli-type pies, each delicious in its own right. Equally satisfying at this great low-key hangout spot are the foccacia bread sandwiches.

Just a comment for that Mr Fusilli's review: your comment is hilarious, for a 40 rmb jug of water, it better be a labeled mineral water. We are in Shanghai China, remember? authenticity and class are not exactly "over-flowing" here.

Also, 15-20 minute waiting time for a restaurant of this self-claimed class is NOT appropriate, even at 100% capacity.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. I used to be a big fan but now i think they've changed ownership and everything is so awful. The service was unbearably poor. The waitress doesn't know what she's doing. The bread was stale and we tried to be kind and informed her so, but she has the guts to tell us that they would have to charge us for a second serving. Bearing in mind the kind of price they are charging, you would have expected something better. There were mosquitoes under the table and we asked for some sort of repellent but was given a incense stick, which of course did not help at all. We ordered beef shank (the blackboard menu didn't say how it is to be cooked); anyway, the waitress asked us how we want our beef shank to be cooked, medium done or well done. Ah, that baffled us, do they have a new way to cook shank? so we asked her how it will be cooked. She said it is grilled/roast (her english is not good) Ah, we anticipated that they might have a new way to treat the shank so we waited patiently for the dish to arrive. Surprise!!! It was kind of stewed when served. We didn't even bother to order dessert or coffee and decided to leave. Paying a bill of close to 1000 yuan for 4 (being all ladies we shared our dishes, no alcohol as we were driving plus an underage girl), this is absolutely crap and the most horrible dinner that i have ever had in Shanghai. It's not worth it. THAT'S NOT AMORE!!

We had a dinner tonight at this restaurant. After the positive remarks about this place we ordered a pizza margharita and a four cheese Gnocci combined with a bottle of red. The food was coocked without any passion. Pizza not crisp and pure tomato taste, the Gnocci overcoocked with only blue cheese taste. We have visited many different Italian restaurants accross the world but this was our worst experience. Surely we will not return here,

The bakery on the ground floor is not worth trying. The two small buns (RMB20) tasted like cardboard. Sliced bread from 7-11 has more flavor.

dear utensils, i know very very well the restaurant and also the italian guy. The only comments i want to leave here is that the best pizza in town you will found in That's AMORE, and they use only imported italian water: no swiss, no chinese, only italian water! Serve it in a cristal jug is simple class...to people that understand the difference between distilled water and proper natural water you DO NOT NEED to show logos. That's AMORE during the years gained the trust of many customer coz they know about the high quality of the food You ll find there. Pls ask around, for a jug of imported natural water 1,2 liter the price is more the fair. They produce daily fresh bread (extremely good and they use italian imported products to do so!) and i find hard to believe that they did not give You the bread basket! they usually serve 4-5 quality of bread.

Waiting in a restaurant is not nice, you are right but i think 15minutes is pretty fair.

Conclusion: reply to me and i ll invite You there to have a real good food experience!

If "patience" is your middle name, this place was made for you. For me, it almost bled me dry of life.

There wasn't a maitre'd or any member of staff to greet and show us to a table. So we plonked ourselves at the nearest available table and waited. And waited. And yawn waited.

It appears there was only one person in the room who could (or knew, whichever way you see it) how to take food orders. We observed this suave-looking Italian dude charming the pants off each table as he recommended appetisers, secondis, pastas, pizzas and wine accompaniment. This is all great except we're waiting to order. And have been the past 15 minutes. Oh and did I mention we couldn't be served side breads UNTIL we've ordered?

Fifteen minutes and counting....

The lovely Italian guy (finally) came over and we quickly rattled off our order of ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach and a serving of Proscuitto pizza. Our throats were thoroughly parched so we asked for water all round. And bread. Please.

The bread came and so did the RMB40 jug of water. We're not talking some chi-chi bottle of water from Swiss Alps. We're talking probably normal water from Nongfu Water Dispensing machine. But we accepted it as the thirst was killing me.

Fast forward 20 minutes....

Hhmm no sign of our mains. Are we surprised? The Italian came over and apologised profusely as the kitchen had a backlog of orders and ours got delayed as a process. We took a quick look around the level of occupancy and to be honest? It wasn't THAT busy. 70% occupancy rate. Max.

As we sipped on our RMB40 water and stone cold breads, the mains finally arrived. The ravioli stuffing was very good but the pastry wasn't that great. The pizza, on the hand, was rather delicious.

My partner immediately called for the bill when the last ravioli was swiftly removed by your good self from the plate. We've never been so keen to leave a restaurant before.

I'll never return to that place ever again. Bold and harsh statement, I know. They need to start training and educating more of their staff to be able to take orders and not rely on one person to do so. Also, if you want to start charging your lovely customers RMB40 for water, let it at least be a bottle of Voss or its variation from an obscure spring somewhere.
