This cozy, intimate space is a great date spot but gets very busy on the weekends. Service is excellent, and their star anise duck is one of the best duck dishes in town. The menu is loosely pan-European with a French focus.

Erm. Tried it out after the CW review ("one of the best ducks in town") but was quite disappointed. It's very small which I don't mind and the decoration is quite nice (if you're into that very traditional sort of thing) but, without trying to be condescending, it shows that the place is Chinese-owned. Some issues we found: 1. Three main courses came out each 10 minutes apart. 2. Only one waiter for the whole place who took ages to open the bottles of wine we ordered. 3. Clearly the owner put a lot of emphasis on making what looks like an authentic, small Parisian restaurant.... and then peppers the menu full of pastas and risottos. What?? 4. Dishes are kind of awkward and while not tasting bad have issues that just make you wonder "Why?" (for example the duck breast is pre-cut in little cubes - kind of goes against the point, and the Angel Hair Nicoise pasta - what is that anyway - used spaghetti instead of Angel Hair pasta.) 5. We all got warm water at the beginning. Weird.
In all, it's OK, nothing bad but with differences to real European food that make you wonder and show the targeted clientele might not really be Europeans like me.
Wines are good and good value though. The lonely staff is extremely friendly too. Oh, and I find the place quite cheap. Someone said they went to Franck after. Sorry, but that is just not comparable, Franck is at least twice as expensive.

"This is supposed to be a French restaurant ... menu doesn't give you many choices + overpriced."
That sounds EXACTLY like a French restaurant to me.

Small place - too small. Even so small that you can smell all the smoke coming from the kitchen - not very nice - especially if you go out afterwards then all your clothes will smell like kitchen.
This is supposed to be a French restaurant but menu shows French, Italian and Spanish...what's going on here owners? Menu doesn't give you many choices + overpriced.
We left the place w/out eating and went straight to Franck which is always a winner - the winner in SH.

Unspectacular soup can be had here - and though they say you'll get plenty of bread with your order I had to ask for them to put it on the plate. Overall the atmosphere reminds me of the kind of lounge my grandmother would have thought classy. Maybe if you're in the neighborhood it'd be nice to stop by for a glass of wine, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this place.
