This morning I ordered an almond croissant to go. When I got ready to eat it, it was greasy and had grille marks on the bottom. WTH?! If you are going to "toast" it, tell me first!

I have Wagas sandwich every day, and have never found them to be salty. My currant favorite is the grilled veges, on whole grain and I add the salami.

The Worst First - Wa-aay-gas-alty

I went to this Wagas corner yesterday afternoon for a "healthy" meal. Truth is, I was on my way to Element Fresh, but decided to cut my trip short and satisfy my hunger at the nearest 'healthy-fix cafe' I could remeber on my way, which was this particular branch of the dozen of Wagas cafes in town. Actually, it was my first time to experience Wagas, and boy, was I very disappointed!

I didn't know that this cafe's name is spelt with a capital "S", standing for "salty". I ordered the day's panini express, which had Saltami (salami), grilled vegetaSalt (vegatables), spinach and mozSaltrella(mozzarella). It was too salty, I almost couldn't eat any more just after my first bite!

After scrutinizing each and every ingredient, I found the grilled eggplant to be the saltiest of all - even saltier in taste than the salami and cheese (which is claimed to be mozzarella). The Saltami tasted like some kind of thinly sliced salted and preserved Chinese sausage.

After that fatally sodium chloride-packed panini (my tongue felt kind of numb after the first half), I dared not order anymore pasta for fear of suffering from gall stones or UTI, or some other illness like those, some day later.

Although the price is competitive, I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather have any of Paris Baguette's Panini choices any day: better-tasing, and cheaper too! And though Element Fresh may be a bit more costly than Wagas, I've never had a bad time or food/drink from there; so, I said to myself, "You should've gone to EF as originally planned!"

I did get good service from them, though, and if there's any saving point, that'll be just it. (I probably should've asked them to re-do my panini - I only asked for some dressing to tone down the saltiness, which didn't work out well either).

WAGAS So delicious! I just had a ham, honey mustard, tomato, sprout ciabatta sandwich, and it was worth it. Their cakes look so good too. Prices may be a bit high sometimes (around RMB50 for a sandwich, RMB28 for a watermelon juice), but pasta after 6pm, will only cost you RMB28. They also serve breakfast, and a RMB10 coffee. Excellent, any time of the day!
