This American-themed restaurant with a tie-dye clad wait staff and jam band music has killer Cincinnati-style chili, a variety of hot dogs and sandwiches and a few solid Mexican offerings. Smoothies and milkshakes round out the eclectic menu which is sure to satisfy the most ravenous of appetites.

I haven't tried anything but their burgers and hotdogs. Decent servings at reasonable prices and a burger/hotdog comes with your choice of a free side dish. The potato salad was a bit dry and unseasoned but the fries are fine. The chocolate milkshake I had was sweet and thick but the berry smoothie was too sweet for me, probably because they use ice cream as well as yoghurt. A "classic" burger with basic, fresh ingredients is just perfectly done.
Munchies is good and consistent. Often order it for lunch. Only can complain about three things: their chef uses way too much oil unnecessarily, the quesadilla sometimes is soaked in oil, chips are also too oily, probably their frier is not hot enough.. and third they only provide two tiny cups of sauces... Chicken tacos are stuffed with meat, but without enough sauce they feel dry... BAH< still a pretty good deal...
Here's the Lowdown : A fastfood joint in a neighborhood where you would NOT expect it. After receiving quite some bad rap I decided to wave the munchies flag. Nut just because it's close to my office, but also because I see improvement ! The place is clean. Food is served prompt and according to your wishes (burger cooked well done, no problem...no flood of BBQ sauce...no problem either). Plus...following a 2011 trend- new items were added to the menu ! If you are REALLY hungry go for 'Nate's Fatty Back Burger". The Name choice is questionable...but the burger sure is delivering ! The patties are still the same as in the other burgers but you get 2 of them..with Dijon mustard, Bacon, swiss cheese and grilled Onion. It's all good. And also takes the topspot for being the most expensive item on the menu (52 Kuai). The side dishes were left unchanged..potato salad is recommendable ! Or if you already abandoned your new year resolutions..go all the way and have a side of Chilli Cheese fries. Call your physician first. New on the menu are the salads...and they are real good, crisp and fresh. Even though you don't get sides of bread with it, the portions are satisfying and good value for money (Cobb for 35 Kuai is healthy and delicious). http://www.munchies.cn/
It has a really big menu flushed with good american options at reasonable prices. I loved my hotdog, loaded with good ingredients.
Basically, it's really good american food at a great value, which is hard to find in shanghai.
The tacos here are big and full of meat, cheese and lettuce. I really couldn't ask for more.

my boyfriend and i love the hotdogs and hamburgers here,especially the chili cheese hotdog. free french fries are so hot and crispy. the restaurant is quite small but staff is friendly and the food is good and cheap. after 4 months and 4 days a week, it would be nice if they would change somethings up. still the BEST VALUE for real western food in shanghai.
Been to their wuding lu shop before, was nice. Recently found out they opened a shop close by my work place. Ordered a classic burger the other day, and loved it. Nice patty and nicely toasted sesame bun. Yum... Fries are nice and crunchy...
its hard to write a review strictly for delivery purposes but i recently discovered that Munchies opened another shop closer to home. We ordered the chilicheese burger, beer quesadilla and philly cheese steak. first there burgers aren't the biggest, but in this case bigger isn't always better. a perfect constructed burger. all the right, fresh elements. the quesadilla, was crisp, tasty and pleasant. philly cheese was cheesey and again just good. delivery service was fast, 30-40 minutes. food still hot and again just enjoyable.
