This cozy Western-style bar and grill featuring various Dutch dishes offers excellent home-style cooking and reasonable prices. This is the only place in town offering Dutch Fries, a delight to those in the know and a must-try if never tasted.

The 2 for 1 happy hour is great! They don't serve burgers anymore. They only have Dutch fries and chicken fingers. The owner is really nice and likes to chat.

Super nice place with good food and very friendly service. My favorite food is the "Fanous Burger" and make sure you hit the Happy our from 14-21.00 if I am correct ;-)

GO, GO, GO!!! If Linna is there you are guaranteed to have a great time. Really now how to make a customer feel at home!

Worst kroketten I had in my life. And the fries weren't good at all. I was really looking forward to some dutch snacks, but this place really dissapointed me.

With twinkling lights, eclectic flags, a wooden patio, and windmill-adorned walls, Joy Bar & Restaurant brings the backpacker back to Jingan. This tiny joy might easily be missed, tucked away in Wuning Lu’s expanse of apartment complexes and traffic. But the daily buy-one-get-one-free happy hour drinks and delicious fries draw a loyal crowd of expats and Chinese alike.
We particularly enjoyed the chicken sundried tomato and mozzarella cheese sandwich (RMB 45,) a juicy panini served with fries.

Joy is probably my favourite bar in Shanghai, thanks to its big terrace, all-day happy hour, tasty food, and great staff including Lina, Jenny and Haixing. Highly recommended!

joy bar & restaurant got our own strong wireless for 9am -2am daily !
A very good local for when you want a midweek break or a low key evening.

Being only 2 blocks from my work its a great place to go after a long day. The owner is always friendly and meets us with a smile. Buy-one-get-one happy hour from 5-8 makes this place even better. Overall a nice neighborhood bar where one can go and relax with cheap drinks and decent bar food.

the wireless from our building sometimes is not good ,but thank you very much for the advise! xie xie !

This place doesn't have wireless, contrary to its listing. The Dutch fries are good though.

This cozy little bar and grill is reminiscent of New York circa 1990s–stark white, simple but tastefully decorated with a smattering of colorful tulips and an obligatory Van Gogh as wall decor. The Western food tastes homemade, and various Dutch dishes complete a well-rounded eclectic menu. We tried the Dutch fries with our happy hour beers (two for one, ¥30)–a must try. The fries are topped with a mixture of mayonnaise, peanut sauce, curry ketchup and diced onions. Outstanding grilled chicken wings (¥30) and the not-so-usual authentic German sausage bratwurst (¥60), served with salad, sauerkraut, potato pancake and gravy, were exceptionally satisfying. Portions are ample and, though stuffed, we had to try the Dutch pancake with rum raisins and ice cream (¥20) for desert. The outstanding menu and prices definitely make it worth a try. –Peggy Rosen
