City Weekend says

Having earned a reputation as a pace-setter for contemporary art in Shanghai, this non-profit museum has premier exhibits of Chinese and foreign art regularly making their way into its large, modern digs. Besides aiming to help nurture the appreciation of Chinese and international contemporary art and design, MoCA hopes to encourage cultural exchange between Shanghai and the world.

Excellent exhibition of modern art in December 2009. It shows how creative chinese artists have now become. All sorts and forms of art to enjoy. Before visiting Moca I had no idea about it. Well worth a visit.

Last month, I had the chance to view the Guggenheim Exhibition of American Art at the Shanghai's MoCA. Saturday, I went back for the Art of Dance Party. I found that the O'Keefes, Pollocks and Warhols had been replaced by a more modern and dynamic installation -- a few hundred guests who came out for MoCA's second-ever open party. MoCA's event space is as attractive as any of Shanghai's nightclubs with a spacious open-air patio, a sizable dance floor, and a couple of fully-stocked bars. Two DJs mixed classic funk with house, luring dancers to the floor and creating a lively club atmosphere. A nice alternative to the same old venues, I look forward to more MoCA parties in the future.
