Sign up now for this acting workshop beginning August 25. East West Theater is sharing its passion for the dramatic arts by offering a 12-week acting workshop geared toward amateurs looking for first time stage experience or seasoned actors who want to hone their skills in a fun and professional environment. The workshop will end with a final performance on December 1 for invited friends and industry professionals. RMB1,500; a deposit of RMB750 is required before Aug 3 to reserve your space.

East West Theater believes in sharing its passion for theater and will be giving a 12-week acting workshop. It is geared towards amateurs who are looking for first-time stage experience or for seasoned actors who want to hone their acting skills in a fun and professional environment.
Dates: Every Saturday. August 25-December 1st (excluding Sep 22nd, Oct. 6th, and Nov. 3 rd) Time: 10:30 am – 1:30pm Cost: RMB1,500 for 12 weeks A down-payment of RMB750 before August 3 is required to reserve your space.
Weeks 1-5 FINDING THE MOMENT (preparation, awareness, communication) - basics of professional training as inspired by the Stanislavski system using private moments, zone of silence, an introduction to the Sanford Meisner Technique, monologue and prepared text.
Each class will begin by focusing on the use of the actor's body and voice in space followed by the creative use of those tools in live performance.
Weeks 6-12 SHARING THE MOMENT (super objective, motivation, action) - Work by moving onto scene study from the three original masters of realism; Chekhov, Ibsen and Strindberg. - Focus of the second phase of the workshop will be geared towards script analysis, the relationship between action and objective and the difference between the two (which remains the key to great acting).
A final performance of the work will take place Dec. 1 st for the benefit of invited friends and industry professionals.
