Thank you all for your fantastic entries, you're all certainly worthy of a new portrait. However, we've decided that with a family reunion, 10-year anniversary and legacy bump photo on the shelf, marina66 is definitely in need of a new portrait.

Congratulations marina66.

Our family photos have new addition yesterday since the last photos on January 14, 2009 for the birthday of Shun Ming Chang. Yesterday, we went to Guan Yin Mountain (觀音山) to visit my parent Bone Ash (Cremains). Jer Rong Chang couldn't catch the time owing working shift. We still only have same 7 family members of 3 generations as the last time. It might have more family members on the family portrait in the coming Chinese Lunar New Year Eve Worship in Changs Ancestor Temple. That should be on February 13th.

Our last family portrait was taken in August 2009, 2 weeks before our most recent addition was born. We have a nice portrait of the 4 of us - and my big round belly - but we really need a one with baby on the outside too!

We have never had a family portrait taken, but I would love to have one, and I think it would be great for my little girl who is two an a half now.Her daddy travels allot and she misses him so much when he is away! I think a nice family portrait would be a great way for us girls to have him with us all the time, so she can look at him when she misses him too much!

Our last family portrait was just a week ago when Shun Ming Chang was a year old. He is my first grandnephew and the first boy of new generation of the 11th Changs' generations here. Some family members of 3 generations worshiped in Changs' Ancestor Temple. I took the picture to symbol my hope on his grew-up. Actually, it also showed my help again for his birth when his father, Wei Tze Chang, had worried not to afford the 2nd child last year.

Our last family portrait was almost 6 years ago when my daughter was in my tummy and my son was just 1 year old. All 3 generations were there, which meant a big deal for my in-laws as between us, we live in 3 continents and come from 3 different countries, so its hard to get everybody together. You could see the tears well up in their eyes when they received the portrait. But for me, I hated that picture because I looked so bloated up with my big bump. This year, my husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary, so the whole family is coming together again! My in-laws are getting really old and are quite unwilling to travel the long distances and it is probably the last time we will be all together for a very long time. I do hope we get the chance to take a family portrait again and this time without a bump:-)

All we have are snapshots no formal pictures. All the grandparents keep asking for formal picture - help me keep my in-laws at bay!

Our last family portrait was about three years ago. Why? Well with a 3 and 6 year old and a studio that was behind two hours on the appointments, I wanted to kill myself before we even took the picture. Since then we can not even manage to take a photo with the four of us in it with our family camera, because it is always an afterthought, or our holidays and memorable events are always caught up with so much Drama, that someone is always crying, upset or fighting. I guess you can say, it is a good thing we accepted this 2 year work assignment, and have left our crazy family and friends behind in the States. Maybe we can manage to get a photo done while we are here and are all sane and happy to be with each other.

Life is fickle. We need to seize the moment when we can. A photograph captures us as we are at the moment.

Never done it! Our 2 sons are 5 & 11, and a professional portrait for would make a fantastic gift for our Grandmother in the UK. She's misses us a lot especially as she has been widowed in the last year - so this would reallly cheer her up

I have a family tradition of renewing our family portraits every five years. This year (luckily) is due to be our shoot! This will be the most special of our photoshoots because it is the most transitional stage of our family: my brother just graduated college and is living his own life, I'm the last child to leave for college, and my parents are finally retiring. I sense this will also be our last shoot as just the four of us together (since my brother is closing in on marriage)!

Our last family portrait was 7 years ago when our children were 1 and 5 years old. Today they are up and coming hockey stars, soccer fiends, mathmaticians, hilarious comedians, brilliant writers and artists. We would love to capture them this way and say we knew them when....

I take pictures for others, family and freinds. So I am the one who is not in the picture almost always. I have taken beautiful pictures of my own little family, without me. I have a in which I included myself using remote release or self timer. In those pictures I am either trying to hide the remote or looking at the lense anxiously waiting for the shutter release. My 2 kids, with no one to look at behind the camera get distracted and the picture is simply ruined. The last one we had was couple of weeks ago with a freinds point and shoot... nothing remotely close to a professional's work. I have taken beautiful family portraits for others...I want one for myself too.

our first baby is due 22 Jan. With all our families back in the UK and my wife unable to travel, we'd like to give them a belated Christmas present of a great new family portrait.

We did one in Shanghai with Gangfeng Wang, which was really cool... but that was really about being in Shanghai. I'd really like to have portraits made of my daughters that are about them, at this place in their lives.

My last family portrait was ten years ago when my daughter was just born. Mom, dad, and two kids. I have been divorced for five years now and still have not had a new portrait done! We desperately need a new portrait to send home to our family back home!

Summer holiday was the last time we had our picture taken together. Our albums are a patchwork, albeit quite tasteful if simple, of amateur hour photography. I think we look alright, but I am sure your craft could make us look really good. Hope it happens.

Oh the horror. My last family portrait details as follows: Me, my two sisters and my cousins were all at horribly akward ages (ranging from buck-toothed 7 yr old girl with a butch haircut to a gawky 13 year old with all the aesthetic pleasures of mid-puberty, to me, a fashionably challenged 16 year old with a goutee and acne). Our parents made us where matching button down shirts (me and my sisters white and each batch of cousins a different color) tucked into our jeans. To top it off the photographer was really creepy and had us in strange poses like one bent knee with our elbow on it and our chin in our fists. It is all against a white background, and in one of the pics (which is never hung) my grandmother makes a cameo with her moustache and all). We desperately need a new portrait!!!

The last family portrait was shot last Spring Festival. This year I got married, and want to have a family photo shooting with my husband. And I am pregnant now....

My wife and i just had a baby 7 months ago. He just so happens to be the most awesome baby in the entire world (he might even be gifted). We have not yet ever had a family portrait, so by giving us one for free you'd be doing a good deed for the entire world!

Our last family picture has been shooted by my brother in law last year, the baby was just born. My husband doesn’t like taking pictures so it will be a great opportunity to let him see how good is a professional family portrait . I hope it will give him the will to take the camera spontaneously and make more pictures of our family.

Last family portrait was 5 years ago in California. That was with ma, pa, and older brother. We now live in Shanghai and have a few additions to our family: My two-year old sister adopted from shaanxi, the coffee house cat from SPR coffee near school, a nanny, and the stray cat that once lived in our backyard but now at home.

My mom had family photos taken by a professional photographer every year while my 2 brothers and sister were growing up...and were able to see the numerous changes in our lives on an annual basis.

Now I have a 6yr old and 2yr old, and their lives are changing weekly/monthly. Unfortunately our "point and click" camera doesn't do justice to the kind of family portrait we need...and either my wife or myself are always outside of the family photo!

So this could be the start of an annual tradition...getting a family portrait from a professional photographer...and keeping my "family of origin's tradition" continuing with my "family of creation".

My family has never taken a family portrait. The last time we took a "nice" picture with all of us was during my high school graduation a few months ago. This was offered generously by some of the teacher photographers in school. The picture was uploaded online. However, the quality of the picture was horrible- too much noise in the picture, and the lighting was bad. I can send you the picture if you want! Now with both my sister and I out of high school, I think it would be the best time to take the first real family portrait ever, before I leave for university and before my sister graduates university. This way, there will always be that picture of all of us in my parents' house when we're gone to remind them of their success. We're also not big on putting family pictures all over our house, so this would really be a great opportunity to start. Thank you for the chance! :)
