Coffee TreeA Lovely Escape
The latest Coffee Tree is in the fabulous Art Deco-inspired Ferguson Lane, which promises to be a great destination in the future with a spa, flower shop, French bistro, wine bar and design boutique opening soon. The food here is inspired without being pretentious and the wine list complements the food beautifully. We enjoyed a vegetable soup and goulash, lasagna (or quiche lorraine) and salad served with freshly baked German brown bread or baguette (¥60). Ingredients are sourced locally, and the service is efficient and friendly. In the evening, choose from a platter of antipasti (¥145), pizza or a yummy panini stuffed with salami, cheese and sun dried tomatoes (¥42). Top it off with a delicious apple-cheese crumble cake with fresh cream (¥25) or the delicious squidgy chocolate cake (¥20). We'll be back when the weather is warmer to relax and mingle in the outdoor seating area.

was there yesterday with friends.. in my 4 years in SH, this is the first time i'm reviewing a place to warn others.... but this time got really upset by the way they treat their customers. even if i say nothing about the joke-size salad, priced over 60 rmb, it was the 9 rmb for a SINGLE SLICE of bread, that pissed me off. its really not about the total sum, but about the feeling they're after your every penny, and don't give a shit about value, or a projecting a feeling of appreciating their clients...
management was not there to react.. and although i was told they'd call me back, still haven't.
yes, the location is nice... but it went up to their heads and they ignore the rest.
Went there yesterday and I must admit that this place is absolutely terrible. It's actually a shame that this place is in Ferguson Lane who is well known for great places. Outdoor furniture are all falling apart - the only thing that's great about it is the location.
Their service is seriously bad - staff are so bad trained. Food is overpriced and quality is very low. Coffee is tasteless and juice is not fresh. Tried it all yesterday and for sure they will never see me again. There are lots of other places in town who does a LOT better than this cafe.
This is a neighborhood breakfast spot of mine and while it is overpriced I think the food portions are pretty good and the location is very nice. It's good for a morning after kind of Sunday when you remember the girls name you took home from the night but need to get some easy grub in before you send her on her way...
I've only visited the Coffee Tree on Ferguson Lane, but it's lovely although the service isn't always on par with the great location and usually excellent food. Waitresses tend to be a little unfriendly and less than knowledgeable. But the location and menu keep me going back for more...
