The worst Real Estate Agent in Bei Jing and money chasing landlords.
Lian Jia (链家)is the worst real estate agent in beijing, even though they are big companies, yet they just want money, they just forget about you right after they get their agent fee. The point is these people never think of customers' feeling, everything is about money. Of course it is none of their business if the landlord is a bad person or a good person, yet, they should help people who rent the apartment. They never stand in the middle and be fair to everyone. I will never use this agent.
I had a very terrible landlord, and I will never trust these people. Have to say most of the landlords in beijing are just chasing money. They will never give you a hard time when they get the money from you. As long as you move out, they will give you a hassle. I've been there, and I know how bad it is for the others.
That was a biggest joke I ever heard, the landlord told me I can't put the fridge into the kitchen, because the kitchen is too hot, and I should not put the microwave there either. They even wanted to keep 28kuai because they need to hire someone to clean the apartment after I move out. When I was packing my stuff, they could not stop giving me a hard time, they could not stop talking bullshit.
Also the landlord told me he won't rent the apartment to people who come from Tibet, xin jiang and he nan. well, he is just one of those racists old, arrogant local. nuff said!

I am looking for an apartment again in beijing, weird thing is in here, you need pay the agent one month rent for their service. Well, what I am trying to say is this is DEFIN UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!
I have been living in different cities, here is the only place (i mean amount places where i have been to) charges people agent's fee. They told me if I rent an apartment over 3000CNY, then I don't have to pay for the agent fee. Which is totally bollocks.
Those landlords should pay for the agents, because they asked them to rent their apartment out. They have already earned a lot of money by renting their place out.
They just try their best to get a cent from you. You can't owe them a cent, but they can owe you a couple of cents. that's what I say about those business people. I understand why some Chinese don't want to do business with Chinese, because they think foreigners have a lot of money, and they have no choice.
What a shame that Chinese people are very racists on their own people, if they found out you are not from their part, they would treat you without respect.
What makes these people became arrogant, difficult, and mean? What did the Olympics do to this country and people from this country? I just don't understand. Who will finally stand up and speak up? When will these people realize how bad they are, and they will treat the others with heart, honesty?

We have 46 days to go, then we will step into 2009.
I never spent new year in Beijing, and I don't know what it is going to be. I think I will head back to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year.
I just like this traditional festival, and I would like to see the celebration from the north. I don't know if I can deal with the cold weather though.
Walking along this city today, water is freezing, and I can't wait to see snows. I love it, because it is pure, and romantic.
Sitting in front of my Mac, and having the heater on, I feel nice and warm. I can tell my friends and parents that I have a real winter here when I get home.

Hassle day on the metro again, that's why I don't like weekends. That doesn't bother me much, just those people are selling maps, begging, ignoring the environment are the most annoying part.
I picked up the phone and called the Metro company. As usual, they just found excuses, then they told me something very funny:" begging on the train" is not illegal in China, the metro tried to stop them, yet they came into the metro station as passengers, there is nothing we can do about that. Metro staffs are not in charge of the public security, and we can't get the cops involved. anyways, we will write down your advice, thanks for calling!"
wow, a capital of China, allows those people walking along the train, disturbing the others. One night I saw someone's sick on the floor (inside the metro), the map guy just slip because he didn't see it. The locals just laughed at him, and no one gave a shit about this. what a caring city and people.
I don't know why they just ignore and will never give a damn about what happen. After the Olympics, everything's changed. They don't care anymore. They have this x-ray machine, they could see a pack of map in people's bag, yet, they never try to stop it.
Don't know what foreigners think of this "great" city especially the tourists. The locals or should say the gov is not doing anything about it anymore. I guess because they just wanted to get the positive comment for the Olympics. They kicked all the people from the country side out, now, they are back, so everything starts looking bad as normal. Back to Normal. Enough said!

Constructions Everywhere!
After the Olympic, there are so many places in beijing are under constructions.
Walking along the hutongs near yong he gong, you will this wu dao ying hutong is under construction. Well, everyone might have the same question - what's going on.
It is nice to see the hutongs get busy, but I hope they will keep the si he yuan, don't pull down the si he yuan and build a modern shop/restaurant.
Nan Luo Gu Xiang is such a big messed up, because a lot of people just make their place as modern (or funky) as they can or they want.
I think the wu dao ying hutong will be better because it is very easy to get there by metro, bus, and people like to keep the original courtyard home.
I just like to go to a place is different and not just follow the crowd.
Glad that I found this place!

Bei Jing Is Flying, I noticed that by only living in here for few months.
Before and after the Olympic, this city is still busy. Is it too fast? Will beijing turn into another modern city as shang hai?
So many si he yuan got pulled down and re-built, I feel sad in a way, because it is such amazing construction and people come to beijing to see the real old beijing, si he yuan is one of the most important thing in beijing, that's one thing the other cities don't have. But it seems like the locals will end up living in an apartment building in the next few years.
The capital attitude
This is my third year in Beijing. I notice the Capital attitude is getting more and more obvious.
Many Beijngers don't queue, they jump the queue, they push the others. People go to the metro station everyday just don't read what's been written on the platform of the metro station, they like to push.
They are very racist, and they think they are best because they live in the capital of China. They only like people who speak Mandarin with the "er" sound at the end.
They are very arrogant, they think they speak the best Mandarin so they correct you all the time. Taxi drivers are good examples. Passanger:"wo yao qu san li tun." Taxi driver:'shen me? na'er? Passanger:"san li tun." Taxi driver:"Oh, San Li Tun'er!" The language sounds like someone has a steam bun in their month. They speak Chinese is like the peasants speak English in England.
They hate losing face, they hate to be told what to do, taxi drivers hate to be told where to go, because they don't want to look like an idiot.
They will never apologize, and they find excuses to forgive their fault. They will only point out the others' own fault but when they make the same mistake, they will never think they are wrong. Things have to go their way or no way.
They are very rude, they like to add TMD in every sentences. Some of them sound even worse. They just don't realise how awful they sound, instead they think it sounds cool.
They are very greedy, they just make everything horribly expensive. No money No friends.
They just watch / look and never help. No matter what happens in the city, people like to stand around and watch, no one stands up and helps.
They enjoy bribing. Whatever you do, you need "guanxi" aka bribe. Policemen expect bribe all the time.
They like to lie, one lie cover another, they will never tell you the truth.
The capital attitude will never go away, it will only get worse and worse.
