We went there when Hot Club of Beijing played yesterday - and it was really nice! People were dancing Charleston and the music was great! I will definitly come back soon!

Vanguard Vibes
Unlike many Beijing bars, the purpose of VA Café and Bar (aka “The Vanguard”) is clear: this joint is about the music. Live jazz on weekends packs the house with patrons who want to enjoy a comfortable environment to soak in some of the capital’s finest sounds. Decently priced—if unremarkable—cocktails (¥35) and beer (¥15) give the venue a chill, unpretentious vibe—a welcome development in the city’s jazz scene. When live music isn’t on the menu, however, the club screens jazz DVDs to a mostly empty house. The ¥20 cover for live music is almost always worth it.
