It Takes Two to Mango

Soft gold lighting, comfy seating and a clean, airy ambience make Mango a welcome alternative to the sweaty, overcrowded Wudaokou bar scene. In the basement of the U-Center, the split-level bar’s lower section is equipped with an impressive audio installation and features the district’s largest dance floor, where foreign exchange students’ courting rituals are set to a soundtrack of house, hip-hop and R ‘n’ B. Beers start at ¥10, and a bucket of 12 Heinekens costs ¥280. Most of Mango’s long list of cocktails are priced at ¥20, a perfect amount for the Wudaokou student set.
