This small theater used to be known as the Chongwen Worker’s Cultural Palace Theater. Extensive renovations improved stage facilities. The theater now specializes in traditional Chinese performances such as “The Legend of Kung Fu”.
Fabulous show. Definitely world-class. From the set design to the choreography to the music to the performers. Everything was ON. Wasn't completely comfortable with the thought of having kids training and working like adults on a daily basis. A caveat for those interested to see this show. Buy your tickets from an agent. (The theater charges way more.) BUT arrive there at least 30 minutes before the show to meet the agent outside the theater. AND check your tickets to see if you have the seat numbers/section promised you BEFORE you hand over your money. Beware of agents selling through www.redtheaterbeijing.com. Ours promised us seats in the blue section between rows 5-12. Outside she slipped us tickets from the cheaper yellow section on rows 15 and 16, separating my family.
