This place, with its staggering array of South Indian curries at reasonable prices, is not for the indecisive or curry-virgin. If you're not concerned about your waistline, ask the charming staff for a richer curry. Try the chicken pepper fry and wash it down with some fantastic masala tea.

I used to work nearby, so would often come here for their lunch buffet. I think their buffet is great value and tastes pretty good. I have also eaten here during the evenings and found their other dishes to be equally as good. I wouldn't necessarily call it the best indian cuisine I have ever had, but I still rate it quite high. And combined with the price (particularly the lunch buffet) it is hard to beat.

Ordered the Mango Chicken here--it was FANTASTIC. Creamy sauce with a light mango flavor--the small bits of fruit were melt-in-your-mouth soft. Got the butter chicken as well--while it was good,it really paled in comparison to the mango dish. The mango lassi (sense a theme here?) was also one of the better I've had here in Beijing.

I agree with the reviews 100%. I have not had really good indian food in Beijing like this! Actually the lamb and chicken was more tender than any I've had in any place. Absolutely supberb dishes. Service is good, very attentive. I asked the manager to recommend somethings which he asked a few questions and brought back the best meal I've had in Beijing in a long time. Great naan bread, great rice, good watermelon juice. Samosas were great.
Do yourself a favor and check out the best indian food and all around great place.
I can't think of a thing for them to improve on and was much better meal than I expected, so that deserves 5 stars!

Really fantastic. The service was excellent and the food rich and extremely flavorful. The mango chicken is not on the menu, but make SURE you order it as it's totally unique and just delicious -- a creamy curry with huge pieces of fresh mango. The vegetable pulao rice was beautifully fragrant and I loved the cashew nuts in it. I also recommend the butter paneer -- the creamy sauce is great. Indian Kitchen may also have the best lassis in town. They're made with homemade yogurt and fresh fruit. Additionally, you can ask about purchasing any ingredients for Indian food here as they have an importing business for spices, lentils and other products and actually supply some of the other best Indian restaurants in town.
One of the best places for super-duper fantabulously authentic Indian food!
The scent of spices will make your mouth water the moment you step into their restaurant... and every bite is just heavenly!
The kitchen prepares dishes by table, so best to leave 20 to 30 minutes of waiting time during peak hours.
Must haves: anything that catches your fancy :) Personal favourites are their briyanis, mutton dishes and huge variety of phratas and naan + Mango Lassi!
Bon Appetit!

I think the first time I went there was maybe two years ago, then it became one of my favorite dining spots. And I have recommended this place to a lot of my friends, they all really like the food.
I went there again last week to try their new menu, I was very impressed by those amazing new dishes: Mango Chicken Curry, Tandoori Tiger prawn and Lamb Vindaloo. Mango Chicken Curry was my favorite!

Walking into the restaurant reminded me of dining in Little India in Singapore. I was bowled over by the new menu, mango chicken curry, lamb vindaloo, tandoori tiger prawns... I could go on. We deliberately over ordered so that we could have savour the leftovers. I'd highly recommend eating with your hands a la south Indian style--it adds to the whole experience.

I ate here last night, and I absolutely loved it. The tandoori chicken was especially impressive. Do not miss out on the mutton soup. Service is friendly and intelligent. Has a nice neighborhood feel, and the owner seems to know much of the clientele. All around a great place.

The food is tastefully seasoned and the quality is very good. They have real Indian food, prepared by Indian chefs. Also try the dishes which are a little more uncommon such as lamb with ginger and garlic. Prices are extremely reasonable and the service is nice.

Hi "youngzhang", sorry to hear that this restaurant make you "loose face"丢脸infront of your indian friends. My indian friends however like the food here. I do agree that some of the items may not be as good for example the Roti-Nan; it was too hard and the garlic flavouring is too light. But overall we all enjoyed ourself. Please feel free to feedback to their restaurant manager (I think his name is Moorthy-if I have not forgotten). He is very helpful I believe he will take your feedback constructively. If you need his mobile number, please send me a message. Cheers!

Reasonably priced and fantastic food!

Food is fantastic here.
and service is good too...

The food is absolutely horrible here. I went with my india friend about 3 weeks ago and my friend from new delhi. He ask them paneer tikka, they say they cannot make it .?this is most simple food in delhi my friend told me .my friend laughed at me where i brought him but to keep my face he ordered simple food of new delhi -like aloo gobhi and dal makhani , palak paneer, butter chicken. He just could eat little butter chicken and little aloo gobhi. He was not happy with my choice of india restaurant. Then he asked some south indian food like sambar-and idli. They could not make idli they say .He order dosa then the sambar of dosa is so horrible he say and when he ask for chatni they give him chatni of corriander-not the dosa chatni. even south indian food they cant make. He called south the chef-and he said it is same way available here -in india is differnt but here they cant make because management do not give him materials -and he could not even speak english. The girls were giving service -one girl can speak english . My friend told me better take me to good place next time. Because this place is so near to by office-i take him but next time i will think again. I have eaten here before-it is okay for me -but for real india people may be the taste is not the real one . The waiter say sorry as whatever we order we could eat only 20% food, i asked discount -waiter cannot give any discount as manager is not available and headquarter do not allow discount-she say. Because this restaurant is cheap i brought my friend here but he was so unhappy. i dont know india food but my friend become unhappy.

I like the place for its reasonable prices, tasty fresh food and most importantly nothing to posh in a typical "home-style" indian restaurant. Will go again! PS: week-days lunch buffet at RMB42 per adult

agreed. lots of indian costumers! the food is heavenly! some of the staff are quite grumpy, but all are competent and quick! have never seen the place without the manager, and he remembers old costumers! the only problem is with the drinks. they have noone that knows how to mix even simpler drinks. but again, if it's not to your liking, the manager is always happy to take your criticizm and retry making a certain drink. great restaurant!!

真他妈好吃!
for an experience of nice indian food and not-so-expensive bill, i opt for indian kitchen. leemack and xigor were right, ive been here 3 times and everytime i always see indian guests eating here. ive never been to india, never tried indian food there, but judging from this view, their food must be authentic.
the interior at the other hand was very so so. nothing special that makes u feel ure having a fine dining. but the service is great. i always love to go to a place where i can get good service in beijing. and so thats why i give 5 stars for the service, the food and value for money of this restaurant.

Delicious authentic Indian cuisine. Everything we had was great, except for the fishdish (don't remember) tasted a little fishy. I can confirm that the place was visited by quite a lot Indians.
The service was very courteous, even the manager came to the table to check if everything is alright. The interior has nothing to be mentioned about it and lacks of atmosphere.Ganges and Indian Kitchen should get together, the one for improving the service and the food a little bit and the other to improve its style.

As Leemack just said, every time I went to Indian Kitchen, it was always full of Indian families or Indian tours.
This is definitely a sign of authentic Indian food!
I went last night and the place was full of Indian families getting busy on some real-deal subcontinent grub. The chicken masala is the bomb.

Has to be the best Indian in town. The food is flawless. The staff are friendly and the management always come over to make sure everything is just right. A definite must if you fancy a curry. all meats are cut under islamic tradition , serve both spicy and non spicy dishes

I always go there- good service and great food. It's the best Indian food in Beijing.

I once fainted in their bathroom due to an antibiotic-induced allergy attack, and the staff was absolutely wonderful with me, giving me sips of Coke and stroking my forehead. I also really like the 38 kuai lunch buffet, with the wait staff constantly replenishing your plate with fresh naan and roti. The place just has good karma.

Attentive staff, great service, great fare for the quality. My favorite for Indian food in Beijing!

Always full of people (Chinese, Indian, American, etc.) and always have a good experience. The menu is large and the prices are reasonable. The waitress staff is knowledgeable and even though it is busy our service always seems excellent.
