This three-floor microbrewery has some of the best beers in Puxi. They’ve got good American pub grub, bar games and at least three of their micro-brews on tap at all times. Check out their patio in the summer when they get the barbecue going outdoors.

I don't get what people see in this place. Food was mediocre (had the reuben) and the on site beer was barely drinkable. The atmosphere wasn't too bad, and the service was okay though.
I was one of your guest last night at Sinan Branch at around 9:30pm, when I arrived I understood it is quite busy, when we went to the 2nd floor there was this Chinese Manager who came to us and approach us to move to 1st floor instead yet at the moment there is still available table. I wonder why she pushes away going to the 1st floor, to top it all she looks drunk and not on her state of mind as she is almost shouting on us. I would understood if the table is reserved already but it wasn't or atleast she approach us politely. being a manager her behavior is unacceptable. I hope you did monitor as well your sound system as last night it was so LOUD, i can't even hear my friend talking to me even she's just beside me. because of that so loud sound system. I am not asking for your apology or something. i felt bad to be treated these way or i'am sure you don't like to happen this to any one of your guest, Indeed Annoying!
This is the last time I will ever go to the branch at Sinan Mansion. Bad service since the first day it opened. Salad was warm. Buffalo wings came cold even when we asked our waitress to reheat them.
Very nice atmosphere at Sinan Mansions. Great beer, as expected. Service was lousy though. The young, poorly trained wait staff didn't speak English well, didn't understand what Happy Hour was, and always tried to take away our beer and beverages (without asking, of course) before we were finished. Overall, the service made it a very disappointing, 'local' experience.
Last night had a Nacho's crave... Called Sherpa's; Cantina Agave was temporarily unavailable due to remodelations... Hanged up and started thinking which other restaurant could have nachos... Suddenly the Boxing Cat came to my mind.. Why? because as to my understanding they have the same owner so it would be logical to expect a "similar" offer. I just wanted Nacho's ; so I read the menu description.. Standard nacho platter, the 'Full Monty": Chips, GUACAMOLE , sauce , etc.. 45 min. sherpa's arrived with 4 plastic containers, 2 with chips (other places send 3 for the same price), one with the cheese,meat & chipotle sauce and another one with the guacamole... First I opened the guacamole container... To my surprise for the Boxing Cat cook GUACAMOLE means 1/9 of diced non ripe avocado; what a joke!! if you are going to provide only that tiny portion of non ripe diced avocado don't mention Guacamole in your menu. The """"tiny portion +non ripe diced avocado"""""" came with a spoon of sour cream, and 7 slices of jalapenio pepper; so little that was even easy to count them. Ok, then I though: whatever, they are stingy with the toppings, lets check the cheese and meat..... OMG opened the plastic case and it was some grounded beef and a couple of beans floating in Oil.... Seems that they microwaved the cheese and as any other cheap cheese just became FAT.
This new location is a winner! Checked out the new Boxing Cat Brewery and I have to say its very different from the previous one in space design but i liked it very much. New Shop is very spacious and now has more TV's showing different types of sports. Where else in Shanghai can you get great chicken and waffles, as well as a huge breakfast burrito made right?? Had a great time for the 4 of us during brunch and will be back to check out their dinner with the new place since I've always been a big fan of their microbrews and friendly atmosphere.
Caught the final of the Australian Open Women's Championship while drinking some Winter Warmer and their American Pale Ale - I don't know if it was the game or the beer or both, but I had a great time in front of the fireplace drinking fresh beers that actually has character and taste like back home! Having always like their location down near Yong Fu Rd, I am excited now that this place is closer to Pu Dong for me - personal recommendations would be their meatloaf, pulled pork, chili (one of the best for me in shanghai), buffalo wings and braised short rib
been coming here for a while and always enjoy the value and service i get - efficient service and friendly staff is always a good compliment to great beer and food!
I want to apologize for the poor management response to that, but want to invite people who can manage better to please come to Shanghai. Because we need you.

There seems to be some confusion regarding your understanding of the Canuck Connection Party hosted by us and perhaps we did not do a proper job explaining it to the guests prior to the party. I hope to do that now to absolve your misunderstanding of the situation. We had informed the organizers in advance regarding the need to use plastic cups due to the huge turnout expected - we usually only have our "sampler" glasses available for about 40 guests at a time so we needed to resort to plastic cups to ensure sufficient cups for everyone. These are small glasses at 6oz per glass to allow our guests samples of our beer range at a slightly more volume than our pints. Although the organizers didn't express a problem with this, please understand that we poured the same amount into each plastic cup as our full sample glass volumes, and for all Canuck Connection guests, they got 6 samplers for the price of 35rmb, where as we usually only provide 4 samplers at 45rmb to regular guests - therefore all attendees received a better than usual deal on the beers, as being Canadian myself I had hoped to give everyone a great deal on the beer - I am sorry that you felt 35rmb was poor value for more than a full british pint's volume, but sadly we're already providing the cheapest deal we can as our beers were already priced well below market competitors to begin with.
For your experience with the food, we do apologize about any shortcomings that night with your meal - please let my managers buy you a beer or a dessert next time should we have another chance hosting you in the future for your experience. Thanks for your feedback and we will do our best to fix the situation for future instances.
MANAGEMENT
Went there last Friday for the "Canuck connection" on the 3rd floor. Bought a sampler and for my surprise the sampler consisted of 6 plastic cups (the cheapest kind) filled to barely 1/4 ; what a rip-off.Talking with friends found out that one of my friends heard the manager ordering the bartender to fill the plastic cups up to 1/4 . For the prices they charge they should at least use glass cups. Afterwards had dinner downstairs,well presented dishes but tasteless. Beer nothing special and expensive considering the quality of the brew.
Love the new Boxing Cat decor at Sinan Mansion. Food is still consistent with Fuxing Road outlet but not the service!
I went there twice and had the same superbly blur waitress. Seems like the restaurant is not entirely well organised as I see the bartender scrambling for a teaspoon and saucer while my husband's coffee is sitting out in the cold waiting to be serve. Luckily, one of the management staff was there to make our meal slightly more enjoyable.
It is a shame but hope service will improve soon. Food is still good but there are many other similar "Boxing Cats" wannabe out there with the same spread & better service.
Five stars for the bathroom beer-cap wall alone.
My favorite haunt in Shanghai seems to have gone down hill since Gary left us. I hope the management gets their act together. Gary would not like these reviews.- Dr. Detroit
